SIPP Investments.
Following changes in April 2006 it is now possible to tailor
a SIPP to include investments from the following options.
| |
1. Commercial Property. Shops, offices, warehouses etc
2. Direct Equities. For example FTSE listed stocks and
shares.
3. Unlisted Shares. Shares in Private Companies not FTSE
listed.
4. Collective Investments. Unit Trusts, OEICS and
Investment Trusts
5. Insurance Funds.
6. Cash Deposits.
7. Traded Endowments.
8. Loans and Mortgages. |
|
The wide range of SIPP investment options available will allow many
individuals to consolidate their investments and pensions
portfolio and “wrap them up” within a SIPP taking advantage of
the TAX relief available.
SIPPs will also be attractive for high earners receiving part of
their remuneration via a bonus. Extra cash received in the form
of bonuses could be redirected into a SIPP again taking
advantage of the TAX relief available within the pension plan.
Also Firms paying bonuses into a SIPP may wish to consider the
advantages relating to National Insurance contributions.
SIPP Charges
it is important to consider the charging structure when setting
up a SIPP. Typically there will be a set-up cost and an annual
administration fee.
Charges can vary enormously depending on the type of SIPP chosen
by the client. Fully tailor made bespoke SIPPS for the
discerning investor will much more costly to administer than a
basic no frills SIPP. The basic SIPPS are designed to offer a
more standard service with charges for optional extras or
investment changes.
